History

The ASSE Product Listing (Seal) Program was established by the membership authorization of ASSE in 1964, with the first listing granted in 1965. ASSE concluded that if a means could be established whereby products could display a Certification Mark (Seal) indicating that the products were tested for compliance with consensus performance standards by a qualified laboratory and could therefore be accepted with confidence of acceptable performance in the plumbing system. This, in turn, would be a help to both manufacturers and local officials.

As part of the ASSE Product Listing (Seal) Program, the Seal Control Board shall receive, review and approve/disapprove (as appropriate) applications for permission to display the ASSE Seal Logo.

Today the Product Listing Program has continued to grow internationally and continues to promote ASSE's motto "Prevention Rather Than Cure".

ASSE Product Listing does not imply an endorsement
or a warranty of any kind on the part of ASSE with respect
to the manufacturers or the distributors of the listed products.
