ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI Series 10000

Professional Qualifications Standard for
Green Plumbing Systems Installers

With the escalation of green building and the rapid emergence of sustainable technologies and construction practices, ASSE and IAPMO recognized the need to establish a level of competency necessary for the installation and inspection of sustainable plumbing and mechanical systems and products to protect public health, safety and the environment.

As such, the Series 10000 Working Group was established to develop this Professional Qualification Standard for Green Plumbing Systems. The Series 10000 standard institutes a minimum level of practical experience and the demonstration of knowledge of the requirements referenced in the 2010 IAPMO Green Plumbing and Mechanical Code Supplement in order for an individual to demonstrate the required level of competency.

The idea of supporting firefighting operations by installing a breathing air refilling system in high rise structures is an innovative notion.

Working with America’s fire service, ASSE has developed a professional qualification that ensures these life safety systems will be installed and tested to the highest standards known. Our firefighters deserve nothing less.
