President's Message - January 2012

Happy New Year to everyone,

Hope the New Year is finding everyone in good spirits, our chapter had an up and down year. At the national meeting, we did win the Dewey R. Dedrick Jr. Award for best overall performance by a Chapter, which could not have been won without the help from our board members and all the work they do. When you bump into one of them give them a kudos, because I think it's an award well deserved of our chapter.

On a sadder note, we had a few board members fall ill last year, remember them in your prayers for a healthy recovery. I would like to send out special prayers to the Padecky family for their loss. Mike was a great man and we truly miss him here at ASSE. For those that didn't know, Mike had a fatal heart attack and passed away late November. This is a great loss for all of us and a hard person to replace. Please say a prayer for AI Gehrke, Kevin Sherlock and Cy Giamari hoping for a speedy and healthy recovery.

Now that the sad news is out of the way, here's your chance to give out kudos or well wishes at the Crystal Drop Award Dinner, February 25th, get your tickets now. I promise it will be a great time, and we will also be giving out the Ed Zimmer Award, the mail order form is enclosed in this newsletter. Also featured in this newsletter are pictures from our national meeting in New Orleans, few members with their better halves, especially mine. This year’s national meeting is being held in Philadelphia, so if you can be on the lookout for the date and try to attend, our chapter could use YOUR support. Well good luck in the New Year, I have only one more message to write next month and then it's on our new President Pat Flader, who I know will do a great job for our chapter.

So get out on February 25th and show your support.
