Tickets are $25 each or 5 tickets
for $100. Winners of the 50/50 Raffle will be drawn at the Annual Meeting Awards
Reception on Sunday, 11/23/2008. Winners do not need to be present to
win. Remember, the more tickets sold, the greater the prizes!

ASSE Sal Farruggia Memorial Scholarship, $2,000
awarded to the highest scoring applicant:
CAITLIN WAICKMAN, daughter of
Marianne Waickman, ASSE’s Professional Qualification’s Director. Caitlin
is a Freshman at Fordham University. She was an outstanding student at
Magnificat High School, maintaining a 4.024 GPA in a 4.0 program while
also having an amazing list of extra-curricular activities and community
service. Caitlin is involved in an inner-city tutoring program where she
has worked with the same young boy for the past two years. According to
her instructors, Caitlin is a born leader; one who knows what it takes
and she has what it takes to make a difference.
The
In-Sink-Erator Scholarship, $1,500
CLIFTON SATHOFF,
grandson of Ray and Jan Ehrlich. Clifton is currently a Senior at University of
Wisconsin- Oshkosh majoring in Physics and Secondary Education and maintaining a
4.0 GPA. Clifton is very involved in many tutoring and mentoring programs at
school. Clifton is one of those students that we have been able to help
throughout his 4 years of college.
The Morris
Weinberg Memorial Scholarship, $1,500
JOSEPH FUGELO, Jr., son
of Joe and Sarie Fugelo. Young Joe is a Junior at the University of Delaware
with a dual major in History and Continental European Studies and a minor in
Spanish. He is maintaining a 3.262 GPA in a very heavy curriculum. Joe is an
Eagle Scout, plays and coaches the water polo team at the University of
Delaware. He is very well rounded young man that has set many goals for his
future.
The
Illinois Chapter Scholarship, $1,250
JENNIFER
ZYCKS, granddaughter of Ray and
Jan Ehrlich. Jenny is a Junior at Illinois Wesleyan University majoring in
Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology with a 3.51 GPA. She is an
innovative self-starter, and an outstanding student that will voluntarily give
up her time to help wherever she is needed. She was also involved with Habitat
for Humanity and many other campus activities.
$1,750 Scholarship:
JAMES VLISIDES,
grandson of Paul Bladdick, is a Senior at Davenport University majoring in
International Business carrying a 4.0 GPA. He is a very good musician who plays
in the Jazz Band at school. James has been approved by Davenport University to
participate in their double degree exchange program with the University of
Amsterdam, the Netherlands. James does volunteer work with the Global Student
Organization which promotes diversity and understanding of foreign cultures on
campus.
$1,250 Scholarship:
RYAN BEAUDRIE
was the first to submit an application for a scholarship. Ryan is a Junior at
Lawrence Technological University maintaining a 3.65 GPA, as well being a
student member of ASSE. Ryan has been employed by Ron George Design & Consulting
Services since 2004 while still in high school. He is head of the CADD
Department and is responsible for all of the scheduling of the CADD operators
and setting up all of the projects on the CADD system. Ryan is also a member of
ASPE and ASHRAE besides being a pretty good golfer.
$1,250 Scholarship:
LISA FUGELO, daughter of Joe and Sarie
Fugelo, just entered the University of Pittsburgh as a possible pre-Med major.
She was an Honors student all four years of high school at William Penn Charter
School. An exceptional athlete in track and field and soccer, Lisa is very
focused in what she wants to accomplish in her life. A very mature young lady
for a college Freshman.
$1,250 Scholarship:
MICHAEL CLEARY, son of Sean and Carol
Cleary, is a sophomore at Pennsylvania College of Technology majoring in HVAC
Technology where he has been on the Deans’ List since he began. Upon graduation,
Michael plans on entering the apprentice program at UA Local #524. Michael was
inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society for his
outstanding achievements this past year. He is very involved with volunteer
programs at school and his church. He is very dedicated focused on what he wants
to accomplish with his many and varied talents.
$1,250 Scholarship:
ALEXANDRA CRAMER, daughter of Michael
Cramer, is a Freshman at Texas Christian University majoring in Biology. She was
an exceptional student at Lutheran West Academy in the Distinguished Service
Program. According to her counselor, she is somewhat of a perfectionist as a
student and is passionate about volleyball. Alex volunteers at many school
organized functions and with the Houston Food Bank. A very dedicated and
determined young lady.
$1,250 Scholarship:
SHANNON MORIN, granddaughter of Dick
and Lil Morin, is a Senior at the University of Georgia majoring in Child and
Family Development maintaining a 3.78 GPA. This past summer she completed
mission work with the Mustard Seed Communities in Jamaica, where she worked with
occupational therapists to improve the lives of children with many and various
disabilities. She plans to enroll in the Medical College of Georgia next year to
pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. Shannon has been on the Dean’s list for
eight consecutive quarters. Her list of community and civic activities is
unbelievable. She is a person that really gives of herself to help others.
$1,250 Scholarship:
MEGAN SUGRUE, granddaughter of Patrick
and Sherrie Sugrue, is a Senior at Ursuline College in the Visual Communication
Design program maintaining a 3.77 GPA. This is the fourth year that we have been
able to assist Megan in her college career. Her Associate Professor in her
degree program states, "She has the personality, integrity and dedication to
make a strong contribution in her field." Megan participates in many on-campus
volunteer efforts along with staying involved at her local church.

Scholarship:
ANDY HOFFMAN, grandson of Ralph and
Sherrie (Reichert) Hoffman, nephew of M. Scott Hoffman, and a fourth generation
descendant of ASSE members. Andy is a Freshman at Winona State University
majoring in Writing and German. At West High School in West Bend, Wisconsin, he
maintained a 3.097 GPA. Andy was involved with Habitat for Humanity and many
other volunteer and extracurricular programs. He is a young man with a positive
attitude and a strong work ethic – combination for success.

KATIE MORIN, granddaughter of Dick &
Lil Morin, is a Junior at Northern Illinois University majoring in Health
Education maintaining a 3.5 GPA. Katie is an energetic and conscientious
student. She is very active in the Asian American Association on campus.

MICHELLE REICHARTZ, granddaughter of
Donald Reichartz, is at Senior Cornerstone University where she is majoring in
Accounting. Michelle possesses a strong work ethic, is poised, has a positive
attitude and is able to communicate both verbally and through the written word.
She participates in many volunteer projects at the university.
